London-based producer and multi-instrumentalist Freddie Yates crafts an immersive sound that combines elements of indie, alternative and electronica. Taking musical influence from the likes of Apparat, Thom Yorke and Klangstof, the artist showcases a mature song-writing ability and real sensitivity as a music producer.

Freddie cultivated an interest in music from an early age, taking up the drums when he was ten. Freddie later taught himself guitar, playing with a number of bands throughout his teen years before meeting Benjamin Brown (Ben Xylo) and ML (Last Bloom) at university. The trio established alternative rock band The Vacant, with Freddie taking vocal duties. Following the UK lockdown of 2020 and a hiatus for the group, Freddie set out to produce his debut solo EP First Sign of Rain, recording the entirety of the parts in his bedroom.
