Songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Freddie Yates returns with his first single in almost a year, a track inspired by IDM, progressive house and alternative music. Accompanied by a beautiful visualiser, "Enough" will be available to stream everywhere on 28th April 2023.
"Enough" delivers an exciting combination of vocal samples, Freddie's own vocals, thoughtfully arranged strata of synths, and punchy drum loops. Featuring lyrics that deal with emerging from of a one-sided relationship, Freddie creates a captivating, electronic sound that demonstrates his evolution as a producer.
Freddie has plans for a number of of new releases throughout 2023, including a new side project with long-term collaborator Ben Xylo, and will be performing at intimate venues across London with his live band.
WHO IS FREDDIE YATES?
London-based producer and multi-instrumentalist Freddie Yates crafts an immersive sound that combines elements of indie, alternative and electronic. Taking musical influence from the likes of Apparat, Thom Yorke and James Blake, the artist showcases a mature song-writing ability and real sensitivity as a music producer.
Freddie cultivated an interest in music from an early age, taking up the drums when he was ten. Freddie later taught himself guitar, playing with a number of bands throughout his teen years before meeting Benjamin Brown (Ben Xylo) and Marco Landwehr (Last Bloom) at university. The trio established alternative rock band The Vacant, with Freddie taking vocal duties. Following the UK lockdown of 2020 and a hiatus for the group, Freddie set out to produce his debut solo EP First Sign of Rain, recording the entirety of the parts in his bedroom.
Freddie's exciting new single Enough is set for release on 28th April 2023.
